About us:
5th Down Equipment Locker was started by Joseph Fisher in
2010. Joseph was a 7th grader at St. Agnes Catholic School in Louisville, KY. He saw a need for underprivileged kids in his area when it came to football equipment. He decided to take up a collection of used equipment to donate to a worthy group. In 2010 he chose The Louisville Metro Football League.
Joseph is now an 8th Grader at St. Agnes. He has gained so
much in life by playing football and wishes that no one miss out on that. It is remarkable that something as simple as practice pants or a pair of cleats could keep a kid off the field.
His team participates in the SportsLeader program. http://www.sportsleader.org/ . 5thDown is right in line with the Sportsleader virtues.
5th Down only accepts used equipment. We do not take any money. We are a 100% volunteer group. We encourage others to follow Joe’s footsteps. If you would like to participate here in the Louisville area please contact us at
[email protected]. We can help you organize your local collection and get you in touch with needy teams.
We would also like to help you if you want to start one up in
your local community.
